The After School Club aims:

  • To provide the highest possible standard of care in a secure, caring and supportive environment, where children feel comfortable and happy at the end of the school day.
  • To create opportunities to support learning (having a homework and reading station).
  • To promote healthy eating.
  • To employ caring and committed supervisory staff.

The After School Club will provide:

  • A light snack including toast, fruit and a drink.
  • A choice of activities ... drawing, crafts, DVDs, outdoor play and reading!
  • A calm atmosphere, where children can relax.
  • Respect any dietary, religious or medical requirements.


The Club is subject to the School's policies and procedures.

Copies of all our policies are available from the school office on request.

Risk Assessment

A Risk Assessment has been carried out in line with the school's policy.


Children attending The After School Club are expected to behave according to the expectations set out in the School Behaviour Policy.

Incidents of inappropriate behaviour at the Club will be reported to the Head Teacher.


Staffing is based on the number of children attending the club each evening.

Staff work on a rota basis; all have an enhanced DBS check.

A First Aider is always on site.


Children from Stannington Infants are collected from the school hall and escorted down Nook Lane by Club staff; Nook Lane children in Y3 are collected from their classrooms, Y4-6 are met in the school library and escorted to the dining corridor where they have a light snack and drink.

A variety of activities will be on offer.

Children will remain in the care of After School Club staff until 5.40pm at the latest.

Children will only be allowed to leave the club with a person who is able to give a secure password.

Parents/Careers wishing to book their child into the After School Club should email:

Places are strictly limited and if the club is over subscribed a waiting list will be held.


There is a registration fee of £7.50 per session (bookings cannot be accepted unless accompanied by the full fee).

Sessions must be booked and paid for on a monthly basis, on the understanding that payments are non-refundable unless 24 hours notice is given.


Payment must be made by the last working day of the previous month.

  • Nook Lane Junior pupils - payment should be made by sQuid.
  • Stannington Infant pupils - payment should be made by BACS.
