Breakfast Club Aims

To provide the highest possible standard of care in a secure, caring and supportive environment, where children feel comfortable and happy before starting the school day.

To enable children to eat breakfast before school in a pleasant, relaxed environment.

To create opportunities to support learning (by having a homework and reading station).

To employ caring and committed supervisory staff.

The Breakfast Club Will:

Provide a healthy breakfast including cereal, toast, fruit and a drink.

Offer a choice of activity after breakfast ... such as drawing, board games, crafts, outside play, reading help

Ensure a calm atmosphere, where children can relax, ready for the day ahead.

Respect any dietary, religious or medical requirements

Routine

Children should arrive from 7.45am; no responsibility will be taken for children arriving before this time.

Entrance to the Breakfast Club is via the main school entrance. (Breakfast Club buzzer)

For safeguarding purposes please ensure that your child is accompanied to the school entrance and admitted by school staff. Please do not allow your child to enter school premises unaccompanied.

A light breakfast will be served.

A variety of activities will be on offer.

Children will remain in the care of the Breakfast Club staff until 8.45 when they will be allowed onto the school yard.

Infant school children will be walked up Nook Lane by Club staff to the Infant School.

The Club is subject to the School's policies and procedures. Copies of all our policies are available from the documents and policies section of the website.

Risk Assessment

A Risk Assessment has been carried out in line with the school's policy.

Behaviour

Children attending the Breakfast Club are expected to behave according to the expectations set out in the School Behaviour Policy. Incidents of inappropriate behaviour at the Breakfast Club will be reported to the Head Teacher.

Staffing

Staffing is based on the number of children attending the club each morning. Staff work on a rota basis; all have an enhanced DBS check. A First Aider is always on site.

Menu

Children will be served a choice of foods, including cereals, toast, crumpets, brioche, milk and fruit juice.

Parents/Careers wishing to book their child into the Breakfast Club should email:

Places are strictly limited and if the club is over subscribed a waiting list will be held.

Fees and Payment

There is a registration fee of £5 per session (bookings cannot be accepted unless accompanied by the full fee). Payment must be made by the last working day of the previous month. Nook Lane Junior pupils - payment should be made by sQuid. Stannington Infant pupils - payment should be made by BACS. Our account details are:
