Nook Lane Junior School is an academy school, part of Peak Edge Trust, catering for children between the ages of 7 and 11. We are a warm, welcoming school that serves the local Stannington area and the wider Sheffield community, incorporating a 13 place Integrated resource (IR) for children with autism/communication difficulties. Including children from the IR, we currently have 242 pupils in total.

The school is situated in the heart of the Stannington community, amid lush surroundings, overlooking the Loxley Valley and offering outdoor facilities for sports and leisure.

Organisation of classes

The school is organised at present into four year groups with two classes in each year plus an integrated resource. Children spend the majority of their time with their class teacher; however, some sessions are taught by specialist P.E. coaches from LINKS and our modern foreign language teacher, Senora Lawson.

Currently, Y3, Y5 and Y6 are situated in the main building and Y4 use our mobile, which is located on our smaller playground, outside the Y3 classrooms.

Integrated Resource

Nook Lane IR is a 13 funded place Integrated Resource for children with autism and/or communication and language difficulties, who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

In the Integrated Resource (IR), our vision is for all children to be able to access a tailored curriculum, which gives them the very best chance to reach their potential. We believe that all pupils are entitled to a broad and rich curriculum, whilst understanding that children often need school life and their curriculum adapting to meet their individual needs.
